    John Brown began his musical career at the age of seven, singing and accompanying himself on ukulele. From that day forward, his love of music covered the gamut from concert clarinet to playing the lead in “Jesus Christ Superstar”, After leaving his native San Francisco Bay area to come to Hollywood as a featured singer on the “CBS Newcomer Show”. John never returned home.  

    Eventually settling in the South Bay beach area of Los Angeles, for many years a devoted fan base has followed his original music for which he has received numerous songwriting awards.

    He has been voted “Best of the South Bay” for his perennial local performances

    The John Brown Band has been a southwest Yamaha Ticketmaster Award winner and continues to perform throughout the beach cities of Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo Beach, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. 

    His musical influence has expanded to upcoming generations. Thousands of students have been involved with one of his schools and/or community theatre productions, and Rock Camp workshops in his role as Executive Director of Fantasia Family Music which has earned grant awards from the California Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Los Angeles Arts Commission and Los Angeles 4th district. 

    Many know him as the Contemporary music director at St Andrew’s Church in Redondo Beach or music teacher at Riviera Hall. John’s is committed to mentoring the next generation Into a promising musical future.
